Kia ora koutou,
Firstly – we apologize for our delay in our latest update and thank you for your continued patience whilst we try to navigate the continuously changing environment of COVID-19.
Please take a few minutes to read this update in full. Should you have any questions I encourage you to please reach out and contact me directly.
EVENT POSTPONEMENT
You will all be aware that the continued outbreak of COVID-19 in Auckland has increasingly placed pressure on us around the Memorial Climb and now unfortunately make it no longer possible to hold the event on the revised date this month. The current restrictions of the COVID-19 Health Order as well as the physical regional boundary that is in place around the supercity at this given time make it impossible.
We are now looking at a third and final date with SkyCity in March 2022. We are confident that this next date will be able to proceed as long as the greater Auckland region is in an Orange or lower level under the new COVID-19 Protection Framework. We will advise you in due course to confirm the precise date once we have confirmed all details with SkyCity. We deeply apologize for all the postponements, unfortunately all out of our control, it’s been a very disappointing year.
REQUIREMENT OF VACCINATION
SkyCity has announced that it will require any individual visiting any part of their premises will now be required to be fully vaccinated, this will now apply to all our our events at SkyCity moving forward. This will mean that any attendees, and supporters and all our FireUp volunteers and support staff will be required to be fully vaccinated to be able to attend and participate in any of our events at SkyCity in the future.
I know our entire team thanks you for your continued patience and understanding while we all navigate this ever-changing and challenging landscape, and I know we are all greatly looking forward to when we can all come together again for the climb.
Should you have any queries in relation to any part of today’s update, please reach out and contact me.
Thank you for your continued support, stay safe.
Noho ora mai,
Scottie
